About Annette Knopp

Annette is an inner-depth counselor, shamanic healer, and meditation teacher. Since early on, she has had a deep love for Spirit which was nurtured by her connection with the natural world.

In her early twenties Annette experienced her first Yoga class and also started to practice Tai Chi. Since then, she has developed a rich background in Eastern contemplative traditions, non-dual inquiry, shamanic energy medicine, and modern Western somatic approaches to healing trauma;  she is currently completing her DARe certification training with Dr. Diane Poole Heller on  restoring secure attachment capacities.

Annette is a full mesa carrier in a shamanic lineage of the Peruvian Andes, an ordained Wisdom Keeper in the Order of Universal Interfaith (OUnI), and trained Yoga teacher. She is featured as one of 12 women in the book Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Wisdom: The Feminine Face of Awakening by Rita M. Robinson.

Originally from Germany, she studied and worked as a simultaneous interpreter in Spain, before following the call to explore more in depth the essence of life. She lived for 9 years in India, Japan, Australia, and the Netherlands, before love and work made her move in 2004 to Upstate New York.
In 2009, Annette and her husband Stephan Rechtschaffen opened Blue Spirit, a retreat center in Nosara, Costa Rica. These days, Annette divides her life and work between the US and Central America; in her free time she loves to take her horse Karem and dog Kaya on excursions in nature.
