About Annette Knopp
In her early twenties she experienced her first Yoga class and started to practice Tai Chi. Since then, she has developed a rich background in Indo-Tibetan contemplative traditions, non-dual inquiry, Shamanic Energy Medicine, and a variety of modern Western psycho-spiritual approaches.
Annette is a full mesa carrier in an Andean lineage of Shamanic practitioners, a certified Yin Yoga- and Vinyasa Yoga-teacher, and an ordained Wisdom Keeper in the Order of Universal Interfaith (OUnI). She is featured as one of 12 women in the book Ordinary Women, Extraordinary Wisdom: The Feminine Face of Awakening by Rita M. Robinson.
Originally from Germany, Annette studied and worked as a simultaneous interpreter in Spain, before following the call to explore more in depth the essence of life. She lived for 9 years in India, Japan, Australia, and the Netherlands, before love and work made her move in 2004 to Upstate New York.
In 2009, she and her husband Stephan opened Blue Spirit, a retreat center in Nosara, Costa Rica. These days, Annette divides her life and work between the US and Central America; in her free time she loves to take her dog Kaya and horse Karem on excursions in nature.
